Tackle it Early at Walsall FC

The OPA was delighted to attend Walsall Football Club as part of the “Tackle it Early” campaign, bringing vital awareness of oesophageal and gastric cancer straight to the terraces.

It was a brilliant afternoon connecting with supporters, sharing the key early warning signs to look out for, and encouraging fans to take their health as seriously as they take their football. Conversations like these make a real difference – early detection saves lives.

The day also saw our popular Spot the Ball competition in action, with fans testing their eye for the game while engaging with our health messaging. Congratulations to our winner, Sue Donally!

Thank you to Walsall FC and everyone who stopped by to chat, learn, and get involved. We look forward to bringing “Tackle it Early” to more clubs soon.
