About Us

OPA Cancer Charity, originally established as an independent registered charity in 1985, transitioned to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in May 2021.

Since our inception, we have supported thousands of patients, caregivers, and their families. Most OPA subscribers are patients who have faced oesophageal or gastric cancer challenges, along with their dedicated caregivers, supportive families and friends, including healthcare professionals. We also produce thousands of booklets and leaflets, providing valuable resources to organisations, patients, caregivers, and families alike.

All of this is supplied FREE of charge and paid for by the OPA. We would be grateful for any donations you could make so we can continue to help those who need it – Donate

OPA Mission

Our mission is to improve survival and quality of life for patients with Oesophageal and Gastric Cancer. We do this by increasing awareness and encouraging early diagnosis by providing advice and support throughout the journey. Together we can make a difference!

We never give clinical advice or comment on treatment. We encourage all patients who approach us to explain their anxieties to the Team caring for them and if necessary to request a second opinion.
