Intro:
L Hunt & Sons Ltd is proud to announce a special charity auction to support OPA Cancer Charity, in memory of our much-loved colleague Roy Cuthbert, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Roy was truly irreplaceable – a dedicated, kind and generous member of the L. Hunt & Sons family. He was a devoted husband to Tracy, a loving father and a proud grandfather. Roy’s warmth and sense of humour touched everyone he worked with, and his absence leaves a space that cannot be filled.
The auction features a hand-built, custom-painted model of a vintage Volvo F12 truck, lovingly crafted and donated by Tim Beere.
Tim Beere:
“Since a child, I’ve taken a lot of pleasure in building model kits. I find it a great way to unwind, take the eyes away from a screen, and apply creativity and problem-solving using one’s hands. Over the years I’ve built all sorts of things Airfix related, but thought I’d try something new and build an old truck, a Volvo Trucks F12 Intercooler. With great friends in the haulage industry, and having worked with the fab team at L Hunt & Sons Ltd, I’ve some appreciation of these machines, and also those that drive them for a living. It was therefore very sad to hear the passing of one of their long-standing drivers recently to cancer. As I don’t run marathons thanks to two dodgy achillies, figured I could help by donating my latest build to generate funds through an auction. Said model is now complete, and ready for a new home. This means a great deal to all concerned, and you get something unique to enjoy on a shelf, knowing you’ve helped towards fighting this horrible disease.”
