“I am riding Chase the Sun 2026 (205 miles in one day coast to coast) in memory of my Dad, John Robert Thompson, who was diagnosed in January 2025 with Oesophageal Cancer and fought for 9 months but lost the fight on 21st September 2025.
This is my first real experience of a close relative fighting cancer and this was shocking, not being able to eat and drink for months, those things we all take for granted.
