UK stakeholder survey on advanced gastric cancer and peritoneal metastasis
Survey Summary
Name of person co-ordinating this survey: Mr Piers Boshier
Institution: Imperial College London
Stomach cancer affects over 6000 patients in the UK. Almost 1 in 6 of those patients have peritoneal metastasis, where the cancer has spread to the tissue that lines the abdomen (peritoneum). These patients are currently offered standard chemotherapy with the hope that it will reduce cancer growth but not cure the disease.
We believe that in the UK we have an opportunity to improve the care of patients with stomach cancer and peritoneal metastasis. We would therefore like to hear your opinion and general understanding of this topic. We hope the results of this short survey will direct and support future research around the treatment of peritoneal metastasis in stomach cancer in the UK. Your responses will be anonymised and kept confidential in line with the UK GDPR.
We also plan to create a focus group to aid further discussion around this topic. If you would like to be part of this group or simply want more information please contact Piers Boshier who is co-ordinating this work.
